5 Lovely Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Work

Today is Valentine’s Day! It is not too late to do something special for your colleagues and clients. While typically a day to spend with romantic significant others, Valentine’s Day has come to represent showing appreciation for all meaningful relationships (and an excuse to enjoy some festive treats and fun). Here are five lovely ways to celebrate today with everyone at work:

1. Sweet Treats

Valentine’s Day and chocolates go hand in hand. Spend today by treating yourself and others in your workspace to a sweet treat! At AdvantEdge Workspaces, we are fans of a hot cocoa bar. People can customize their drink with various festive candies however they see fit! You can also have fun with traditional candy hearts or simply enjoy the plethora of red and pink sweets available at local shops. A holiday treat is an easy way to brighten up everyone’s day!

2. Snail Mail

We all remember the Valentine’s Day cards of school days. How exciting it was to open up notes and treats from others! Have team or workspace members place a box on their desk and drop notes off to each other during the day. They can be inside jokes, a fun memory, or just general appreciation. For last-minute fun, use sticky notes and give everyone a designated sheet of paper. People can look at their sheet of fun notes as a light-hearted and low lift way to celebrate.

3. Employee Appreciation

Share the loving spirit with your employees! Send a note with what you love about working with each individual person on your team. Kick off new initiatives, such as employee of the month or a special spotlight. Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to get in the habit of routine recognition.

4. Party Time

Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest restaurant days of the year. Avoid the crowds and celebrate with your team by throwing a party in your workspace. Card marking, cookie decorating, or a happy hour with themed drinks are all celebrations that are guaranteed to bring joy. Plus, holiday parties are a great excuse to meet others in your workspace!

5. Focus on Wellness

Red is the color of Valentine’s Day, but February is American Heart Health month. Honor this month by placing an emphasis on wellness. Gather for a group workout class, practice meditation, go for a walk, or head out to a nutritious lunch spot. There are so many ways to incorporate wellness into your work life beyond Valentine’s Day- click here to learn more.
