How to Safely Return to Your Workspace

AdvantEdge Workspaces is so excited to be welcoming clients back and to see everyone’s faces- well, half of them that is! With Phase 2 of re-opening in D.C. commencing, non-essential services and workers can be back onsite. Everyone at AdvantEdge has been prepping with new safety measures and cleaning procedures in place. If you are heading into one of our two D.C. locations or are thinking about moving from remote work to a physical space soon, here are some tips for how to safely return to work!

1. Masks, Masks, Masks!

Carry masks like you would your cell phone- have it on you at all times! As you return to work, keep a mask everywhere. At least one should always be in your bag, desk drawer, and car. Purchase ones made of different fabrics and materials for different occasions, such as when you need to be speaking with others or outside. Part of being back in the office means following mask protocol, and the last thing you want to do is be stuck without one! Stock up on a variety (check out different options here) so you will always be prepared.

2. BYO Everything

As we venture beyond our own homes, you’ll notice that many places no longer offer things that they used to, such as self-service stations at coffee shops or providing reusable cutlery. It is important to always have your own set of essential items on hand, like pens, napkins, a water bottle, or mug. Not only will you be prepared should something not be provided, but you can also cut down on single-use plastic waste.

Workspaces like AdvantEdge are taking the highest level of precautions to ensure clients remain safe. However, you can still do your part by creating your own “wellness station” in your office or car. Take a small container and fill it with hand sanitizer, soap, a mask, medicine, and even a thermometer. Whenever you step out of the house, you’ll feel better knowing that you have everything you need to stay safe.

3. Follow the Rules

advantedgeworkspaces-health-safetyRule number one of returning to your workspace: follow the provided guidelines. The rules are here to help you, fellow clients, and the staff to remain safe and healthy. Thoroughly familiarize yourself with the guidelines and clarify any questions before coming in. Social distancing and mask-wearing reminders are to keep our workspace community healthy. If you do not feel comfortable returning yet, continue to work remotely! The staff at AdvantEdge are here to support you every step of the way, whether virtually or in-person.

4. Normal is Good

There is a unique sense of excitement around anything that resembles “normal” pre-pandemic life- including heading to work. So enjoy it! Visit that favorite lunch spot that you’ve missed, bask in the silence of your private office, and catch up with all the people that you’ve been unable to see for months. There is nothing wrong with safely coming back to work and taking pleasure in the little moments of normalcy.

At AdvantEdge Workspaces, people can trust that they are going into a clean workspace where the community values personal health and the safety of others. If you’re looking for a safe office environment but don’t currently have a workspace to return to, contact us today!
