Workplace Fuel: Snacks to Feed Your Brain

07.30.15

kitchen-blog-imageHow do our staff and clients at AdvantEdge Business Centers stay focused on growing small businesses? With snacks! Save time, money, and calories by bringing snacks and lunches from home to power your brain throughout the day. Below are some combos that help us stay on our toes when mid-day hunger strikes! Grab some snack containers, here are just a few ideas you can use to satisfy your hunger and get back to your growing business.

Mix it Up

Making your own trail mix is cost effective and fast not to mention you can customize it to satisfy dietary restrictions. Choose your favorite nuts, dried fruits, candies, and crackers for a unique combo that keeps you going. Make several servings ahead of time for a simple, healthy snack you can grab on the go.

The 3 PM Cheese Plate

Want your snacks to look as professional as your workspace? Assemble your own cheese plate by pairing your favorite fruits such as apples, citrus, or grapes with cheese for a sophisticated plate that’ll put a little pep in your step. Slice fruits and pair them with your favorite Gouda, cheddar, brie, or Havarti. Adding a quarter cup of almonds, macadamias, or cashews can add some healthy protein and fiber to a balanced snack.

Spread it Out

Crackers and Spread: Grab a knife and spread some peanut or almond butter on any whole grain cracker. Switch it up and turn it into dessert by using jelly or a chocolate spread like Nutella for a sweet and crunchy treat.

Get your Veggies

Get those 5 servings a day with carrots, celery sticks, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, and broccoli along with a few tablespoons of ranch or blue cheese dip. Not enough? Pita bread and hummus or tortilla chips and salsa pack even more crunch and fiber.

Here at AdvantEdge Business Centers we care about you getting the most out of your work day. We provide breakfast for our clients every Friday morning and regularly offer afternoon bites and beverages to keep you moving. Evaluate your current habits and try some of our tried and true go-to snacks to ward off afternoon hunger pangs.
